After the holidays I managed to add a little more fluff that I need to work to get off (in addition to the fluff I already was working on) I call it my winter coat. Last year I decided to take my health seriously as my Dr. was ready to up my blood pressure pills. I (like many others) struggle to keep my health goals in check. This time of year is a perfect time to reassess that because commercial America markets to those New Year’s Resolutions and this is the biggest one people make. I started my journey by going to the gym last year. I never thought I’d be one to enjoy lifting weights, but I really did and do. Unfortunately life happened and some things were added to my schedule, like a jobby job, as well as other things. I’m trying to refocus and learn balance with the changes. I purchased a Fitbit, and seeing my steps and being able to join the challenges with friends has been a motivator. The following are some of my top points on what worked before and what I will be focusing on again. I am taking this opportunity to put my goals out there. Think about what yours are and join me on my journey to a healthier year.

MY PERSONAL TOP 4 GOALS THIS YEAR ARE:

  1. Trim down, I have 40 lbs I need to lose (OK it’s out there-EEK)
  2. Find my muscles again
  3. Become a meal prep queen
  4. GET OFF MY HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE MEDICINE!

There is so much I have learned, and tried, and there is still so much to learn and try. I am going to start posting specific blog posts about the following, I’ll tell you what tips and tricks I have found to work for me, as well as what programs, apps, and groups I enjoy. So keep an eye out for my Workout Wednesday posts to start up!!
